It’s no secret: the Atrix laptop bundle is rather pricey at $499. And that’s after a $100 rebate, so you’ll be setting down $599 in-store. People complained that this was way more expensive than a netbook. AT&T responded that tablets were their real competition.

AT&T today made an unusual defense of its decision to charge $500 for the Atrix 4G's notebook dock. Mobile Products VP Mike Woodward said the price was "not that expensive" compared to that of a tablet like the iPad as it provided as many features and could even compete with some computers.

Whew! It was one heckuva long presentation, but HP just pulled the curtain back on 3 brand new webOS devices: the TouchPad, the Veer, and the Pre 3. We bolted outside to give'm a glance and they were already getting pretty mobbed, but we managed to sneak off a few shots regardless.
