Netbook sales are still expected to grow even in the face of the iPad possibly stealing business, a new study by iSuppli said today. Growth will have slowed from the breakneck pace of last year but should still see the mini notebooks grow by 25.5 percent to 209.5 million PCs.

Samsung has now released a software development kit (SDK) for its Bada mobile OS, which will make its debut in the Samsung Wave handset sometime this month in Europe and should arrive in the US later this summer.

Olympus this week said its 12.3-megapixel PEN E-P2 Micro Four Thirds camera will start to be available in silver for the first time, starting next week. Previously only available in black, the silver E-P2 will ship bundled with a 14-42mm, f3.5-5.6 lens.

Another hint! Iwata says you can just switch the 3D right off. There was some question when the 3D nature of Nintendo’s next handheld was revealed, but this clears things right up. I think. Wait… if you can just turn off the 3-D capability, what does that say about the display itself?

Fujitsu makes color e-paper with 3X higher contrast

Fujitsu today showed a dramatically improved form of color e-paper that could solve many of the complaints about the technology. The new display has three times the contrast of Fujitsu's previous best; while just 7:1, it provides noticeably deeper blacks and is purportedly the best of its type.

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata said in an interview today that the 3DS will have tougher anti-copying measures than the existing DSi. The executive wouldn't say what it would involve, saying it would give "hints" to pirates, but told Forbes it was important to step up copy protection measures.

Sprint on Friday sent notice to subscribers that it's still working on rolling out Android 2.1 upgrades for the HTC Hero and Samsung Moment. It hinted at delays and said it "had hoped to have this resolved by now" but still expected the release to appear before the end of the spring.

The company behind the WePad called Neofonie, have decided to change the name to WeTab.The reasons for the name change are not clear although it could be related to Apple applying a bit of pressure, or perhaps Neofonie...
