To coincide with the early confirmation of its new mirrorless NEX-series Alpha cameras, Sony has revamped its Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo HX memory cards for faster transfer speeds. They are now capable of attaining 30MB per second write speeds, twice that of the older versions.

Nokia today said it would restructure itself to better compete with its rivals. The copmany will now be split into three groups. A basic Mobile Phones group will handle the low-end S40 phones that make up the bulk of Nokia’s business.

I know nothing about the American version of rounders that you call baseball, but if I did I would say that the crowd-sourcing company Quirky just keeps hitting balls out of the park. This time the committee-designed product is a handsome lap-tray for the iPad, called the Cradle.

Lenovo’s IdeaCentre all-in-one range has been given a polish, with the IdeaCentre A700 getting an injection of Intel’s Core 2010 processors (albeit from the laptop rather than the desktop range) and the IdeaCentre B305 raiding AMD’s line-up instead, with a choice of Athlon II X4…

We have seen a couple of homemade iPad stands here at Geeky Gadgets, but I think this is the first one constructed with Lego, made by Edgar Gonzalez. Edgar wanted to make a simple, portable stand for his iPad, and what better material to use than Lego, simple yet clever.

US Cellular on its Facebook page revealed that the upcoming Samsung R880 will be arriving at the provider and be called the Acclaim. It will also sport Android 2.1 — a first for US Cellular — along with a full hardware QWERTY keyboard and a 3.2-inch screen with a 480×320 resolution.

The WiGig Alliance today published early specs for its namesake format that hinted at a major leap for wireless networking. The short-range technology will work at up to 7Gbps, or more than 10 times faster than 802.11n Wi-Fi.
