Holding out for a full-color Amazon Kindle? Don't hold your breath. In spite of competitive pressure from the Apple iPad and Pandigital's recently announced Novel eReader, Amazon's founder and CEO Jeff Bezos admitted to a meeting of shareholders that color Kindles are "still a long way out."

Nokia has revealed that a new software update will be out on Wednesday for its N900 flagship smartphone. Version 1.2 of the Maemo firmware brings with it improved communication that lets users accept or decline an event invitation right from a user's inbox.

The European Commission believes cell phone subscribers in European Union countries pay high prices because of the varied application of EU telecoms rules, says a Tuesday report. The charges for a one-minute call range from 0.04 euro (about $0.05) in Latvia to 0.24 ($0.30) in Malta.

Comcast's plans to offer over 100Mbps on its cable Internet access were given away today after one customer posted mention of a new tier on his bill. The appropriately named Extreme 105 would provide 105Mbps downstream and 10Mbps for uploads.

The DVR has totally changed TV in my opinion. My productivity was once measured in units of 30 minutes, in order that I could fit them in between my favorite shows, whenever there was a lull in primetime. When I had too much to do I used to try working during commercial breaks.
