Shanghai-based company 4FFF today rolled out the new 6-inch e-book reader in China. The gadget uses a 16 gray level 800×600 Sipix panel with a 400MHz Samsung 2416 ARM9 based processor, Linux 2.6.23 kernel based OS, a 128MB RAM, a 2GB NAND flash storage, and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Motorola's Droid X, sometimes better known as the Droid Xtreme, has finally been exposed in earnest with a preview showing many of its details in advance. The 4.3-inch screen is one of the highlights as it's considered "much better than the Droid" and may use a newer IPS-based LCD.

The future handset known as the Droid Xtreme may be called the Droid X when it arrives at Verizon, according to images unearthed by Phandroid. The Verizon documents confirm the device will have dual-band EVDO support and sport a 4.3-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 854x480.

NEC shows brightest LED projector

NEC Display showed off what it says is the brightest LED-based projector at InfoComm. Rated at 2,000 lumens, it uses multiple LEDs for the red, green and blue light sources. Dubbed Sirius, the prototype projector is also capable of displaying 98 percent of the Adobe RGB color gamut.

Android developers are reporting that an artificial cap has been imposed on the screen refresh rate of the Evo 4G. Performance is limited to 30FPS for both 2D and 3D content, though exactly why isn't clear. The Nexus One, with the same chip and graphics processor, doesn't exhibit this issue....
