Microsoft had their dog and pony show yesterday. Project Natal got a proper name and is now called Kinect and the Xbox 360 is now a bit smaller and quieter. In retrospect, there really wasn’t anything all that special announced. Hopefully that won’t happen today.

Don’t look now, but a UK retailer has the the brand-spanking-new Sony NEX-5 cameras in stock. We can’t say that about a single US-based seller right now so this seems like the best bet if you must be the first kid on the block with Sony’s latest camera.

Apple’s iPhone 4 went up for pre-order on their online store at 9AM UK time this morning, the online store went down immediately, and was up and down over the next couple of hours, and it took us until 12pm to get our order in.

Filed under: RetailIf the tsunami of e-mail we just got is anything to go by, it appears the online Apple Store may be down. (Checking: yes, it's down.) Since the store is down overnight on a weekday, that's a pretty good indicator that it's not just down for maintenance.
