The team over at Geeky Gadgets have created another home-made stand. Previous versions included the iPhone Pencil Stand that as the name suggests, holds an iPhone.The new stand is called the Pencil iPad Stand and was designed to hold an iPad in place on your desk so you can watch a movie.

Sony just added the BDP-S1700ES Blu-Ray 3D player with iPhone/iPod Control to its Elevated Standard (ES) product line. Available next month for about $400, Sony’s BDP-S1700ES Blu-ray 3D player features an IR input on the back panel or easy integration with control systems.

The iPad Cam-Case rights the iPad by adding a swivel camera.

The iPad is missing a camera and there is nothing you can say that will change my mind on the subject. Actually, I think it’s missing two cameras, but whatever. Apple will no doubt add cameras in the second or third generation just to con people into buying another one.

Softbank today beat out fellow Japanese carriers again today by adding the most new subscribers in the country. It credited the launch of the iPhone 4 for helping it add 229,500 new subscribers in June.

Sony Europe has just announced the HT-AS5 ultra-compact surround sound system that makes the most of the 3D experience. The HT-AS5 hides away its 1000W S-Master amplification in its subwoofer unit, which also contains all the audio processing for the system as well as an FM RDS/AM radio tuner.

Thanks to its support of a single video format – MP4 – getting movies onto the iPad is, to be generous, a real pain. You can buy movies and TV shows from iTunes, but for most of the world that’s not possible.

At first I thought "Motorized shoes? That just sounds dumb." Then I took a closer look at the Treadway Wearable Mobility project, an entry in the James Dyson Award competition, and realized how badly I wanted a pair of these: Designed by RISD and Art Center grad Peter Treadway (nom de guerre?)

A new navigation device from Garmin, the nuvi 1695, has gone through testing at FCC recently. Little technical details were revealed about the device, other than that it will be able to connect to GSM networks for live traffic updates, among other things.
