The first phone using LTE for 4G, the Samsung R900, has now gone through FCC testing. It has been cleared for use in the US and is now known to support the 1,700MHz and 1,900MHz bands, which are used by the carrier in parts of the US for the R900's primary carrier, Metro PCS.

Another, more concrete report has surfaced of the details of Samsung's mystery Cetusphone. It's now known through a Bluetooth SIG listing to be powered by Windows Phone 7. This time, however, the model number is SGH-i917, rather than i8700 in the original leak.
