Sony’s not taking competition from the Amazon Kindle lying down. The company has added touchscreens to its three e-reader models, while switching to the new ‘Pearl’ screen from E Ink for better contrast and improving the user interface on the devices.

Augen is working on a next generation tablet ready for launch at CES 2011. Two new models will be built which will come with either a seven inch or a ten inch screen. The screens will be multitouch and capacitive on the larger model while the seven inch model will be resistive touch.

Sony rejuvenated its pocket camcorder mix today with the Bloggie Touch. The new model is almost exclusively controlled by a three-inch capacitive touchscreen that both provides a more flexible interface and reacts to whether it's used in portrait or landscape.

Android.com.pl somehow managed to get its hands on the LG C900 Windows Phone 7 smartphone. The device runs a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and has a slide out QWERTY keyboard as pictured above. The screen on the device measures 3.2 inches and is capacitive.

A source today hinted that NVIDIA might be developing a chipset that would work around Intel's current ban on what it can build. The design would combine a graphics core with the equivalent functions of a southbridge chip, which controls peripherals, audio and other features.

IFA 2010 has opened. At IFA, ViewSonic has the ViewPad 7 tablet on show. The ViewPad 7 is one of four possible tablet devices that are expected to launch this year. The OS running on the ViewPad 7 is Android. The tablet will be called the OlivePad when it launches in India.
