Sony on Wednesday showed off two increasingly rare standard-definition Handycam digital camcorders, the DCR-SX15E and DCR-SR15E. Both share a flip-out 2.7-inch LCD, and have Sony's SteadyShot image stabilization and face detection technologies, along with a 50X optical zoom.

Um, yeah, something big just went down at Discovery Channel’s HQ. Apparently a gunman held several people hostage earlier today while we were all obsessing about silly Apple products. Long story short, the police shot the baddie and the hostages weren’t harmed.

Microsoft may give the Zune HD one last try, but not for some time, a source hinted Wednesday. The device mentioned to ZDNet would, as predicted, use at least some of Windows Phone 7 but wouldn't ship until sometime in 2011.
