Apple’s Ping Reaches One Million Users In 24 Hours

Apple [AAPL] has announced that its new music based social network, Ping has reached over one million users in the first 48 hours. According to Apple over one third of users who downloaded the new iTunes 10 have signed up to Ping.

I spent something like six hours today arranging pictures into albums, uploading them, and adding descriptions and prices. Boy am I glad that’s done! Not that I won’t ever have to do it again, but at least the huge starting project is over.

As you may have heard, Apple had some sort of event on Wednesday. In amongst the Big News like iPods and iOSs and iTunes and iTVs Apple TVs, Steve Jobs briefly mentioned AirPlay, a replacement for the AirTunes music streaming system used in the Airport Express multi-purpose device.
