Pentax K-r brings higher sensitivity, speed to entry DSLRs

Pentax on Thursday brought out an upgrade to its least expensive DSLR. The K-r directly tackles some of the issues with the earlier K-x and focuses on image performance first: it now shoots at up to ISO 25,600 (up from 12,800) and at up to 6FPS for 25 shots in continuous mode (up from 4.7).

Sony has introduced a new model in the Xacti video camera line, the VPC-GH4. The VPC-GH4 has a traditional minicam body and Sanyo's double-range zoom feature, which provides one button switching between wide-angle and telephoto.

Amazon landed a major retail deal today that will let it sell the third-generation Kindle at Best Buy stores sometime in the fall. Both the Wi-Fi only and 3G versions will arrive at the same $139 and $189 prices as on Amazon's own pages. The costlier and larger DX isn't part of the plans....

Best Buy has announced that, as of this fall, they will be offering Amazon’s WiFi and 3G Kindle ereaders in stores.  Priced at the same $139 for the WiFi-only Kindle and $189 for its WiFi+3G sibling, they’ll be joined by the Kindle DX later in the season.

Apple Changes Stance on Third Party Tools in iOS

Apple [AAPL] has changed it's stance on using third party tools in the development of iOS apps. Prior to this change the tools were banned which included Adobe Flash CS5. The changes now permit these tools to be used, "as long as the resulting apps do not download any code".
