Looks like Amazon has sold out of the Kindle 3 (3G version) again! If you go look at their site, it shows a shipping delay of 3 – 5 days. The white version is available now, but it seems that people really like the darker color.

Part of the problem with the steampunk aesthetic is that it’s a mish-mash of at least a half-dozen eras and styles, and as a result these pseudo-Victorian mods have little substance. The real steam-engine Victorians were industrialists and colonialists. They were all about power.
