Panasonic Toughbook U1 Ultra 5.6-inch Handheld Computer Shipped

Panasonic has finally released the Toughbook U1 Ultra handheld computer with a 5.6-inch WSVGA sunlight-viewable touchscreen display with LED backlighting. What makes this portable computer special is that it has received the MIL-STD-810G certification with the ability to withstand a six-foot drop.

Word has it that Target will release the Apple iPad on October 3rd, 2010. Both Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + 3G models will be available with capacities ranging from 16GB to 64GB. Other than the Apple stores, the iPad is currently available at Best Buy. Walmart will also release the iPad sometime this year.

Steve Jobs in an e-mail this evening suggested that Apple TV delays won't prevent the media hub from arriving before the end of September. A buyer worrying that the Apple TV would have to ship early next week to make the target was given a simple "yep" answer by the executive.
