Toshiba is dropping its OLED production plans, according to sources for Japan's Nikkei BP. The newspaper claimed that there was more demand for LCD screens in mobile devices rather than OLEDs and that the electronics giant's poor earnings made it difficult to sustain the organic displays.

RED today said it was raising the price of the Scarlet pro video camera by $1,000 to add in a high dynamic range feature, HDRx. The new feature needs a new ASIC chip and extra development but would turn out "incredible" results according to founder Jim Jannard.
