Are you ready for the lion? Next week (October 20th) Apple will be holding an event in the Town Hall building of it Cupertino campus to debut "a sneak peek of the next major version of Mac OS X." Apple is being typically cagey about the whole thing, of course--that's always part of the fun.

Red Bull makes people do weird things, and while I've admittedly performed some questionable activities while under the influence of various energy drinks, the idea of a space dive never occurred to me--perhaps it's just that I'm not a person of vision. It's probably better that way.

ZTE 7 Inch Android Tablet Unveiled

ZTE has announced a new tablet device with a 7 inch screen. It runs Google Android 2.1 (not sure why not 2.2) and is classed as being a lightweight device. The official name of the tablet is the ZTE Light.The 7 inch screen has a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.

If you were alive in 1978 you’ll probably remember you couldn’t do much with a computer. The Altair had just hit the scene and BASIC was taking off but there was very little a kid of a certain age and predilection could do with this information. Luckily there were guys like David Ahl.

Apple today sent invitations to the press to a special event on October 20. The teaser says only "Back to the Mac" but shows an image of a metal Apple logo with a lion in the background, possibly hinting that Mac OS X 10.7 may be codenamed Lion. A preview of the OS may come at the event....

The invites just came out from Apple inviting the media to an event focused on the Mac.   The Mac business represents nearly 30% of Apple’s revenue so updates to the Mac business are important in our eyes.

As you know, Sonic 4 comes out today on the Xbox 360 and PS3. (It came out two days ago on the Wii, and last week for iOS.) I haven’t bought it yet, but my time with it last week left with me with the impression, well, the game is certainly a fun romp. Can’t ask for more than that.

It’s not that tablets or similar devices with a back-side touch interface are a new idea. Samsung and Apple, for example, are apparently working on ideas in this area. But as far as I am aware, there aren’t too many videos around that show devices with a working rear-touch interface.
