Meizu's M9 smartphone was given a hands-on this weekend as well as testing that signals it's near complete. Developer Archon directly compared the Android phone against the iPhone 4 and claimed that it was slightly better in some areas.

(Update: not quite) Apple has quietly passed a key milestone in the past day as it reached 300,000 fully available iPhone and iPad apps on the App Store. New data from Mobclix has shown that, as of Saturday evening, Apple had 300,975 total apps available.

A discovery in a FaceTime preference file for iOS devices has suggested this evening that Apple has at least made room for multi-user FaceTime calls. The "AllowsMultipleConnections" key in Service Properties implies that Apple could switch on the feature once more of a framework is in place.

Although Android 3.0 still hasn't been announced, ARM president Tudor Brown revealed the very earliest detail of 4.0 in a talk published late Friday. The future OS would be codenamed Ice Cream and would follow after 3.0, known as Gingerbread, as well as an interim release known as Honeycomb.
