Safari Extension highlight: Stop animated GIFs, make your own CSS

Earlier today I was looking for a Safari Extensions to that could stop animated GIFs. I'd be even happier if the extension would also allow me to override CSS on a particular page. After a fruitless search of the official Safari Extensions page, Google turned up both Deanimator and User CSS.

Top line: hell of a beat. Apple today reports earnings of $4.31 billion, or $4.64 a share, in the fiscal fourth quarter, versus $1.82 a share in the year-ago quarter. Street guess was $4.08 a share on sales of $18.90 billion, according to Thomson Reuters, so like I said: hell of a beat.

The 3,2 model iPhone, aka the most likely candidate for the Verizon release, is reported to be at the AP field test stage, which is basically the last stage of testing before retail release. This stage includes final hardware and nearly-final software. And you know what’s exciting?

You don't need to look any further than Apple's stock price over the past several months to know that they're on a roll. A year ago, the stock price was at about $190 a share. Today, it closed at $317.93 a share — an all-time high. In fact, they've hit several all-time highs this month alone.

Japan's KDDI carrier said it will soon bring a Skype app to the Sharp-made IS01 and IS03 Android smartphones. This confirms what KDDI's Tanaka Takashi said during the unveiling of the IS03, and marks a first for Android handsets that do not operate on Verizon's network in the US.
