Clearwire at 4G World today reported that the first results of its LTE-based 4G trials provided extremely high speeds. Using a full 20x20MHz frequency range, it reached 90Mbps for downloads and about 30Mbps for uploads.

Verizon has had their FiOS DVR Manager app available for some time now. Now the company has released another offering to the App Store in the way of a wireless remote. Using the Verizon FiOS Mobile Remote requires you to be connected to your FiOS-provided wireless network in order to work.

Today at the Back to the Mac event, Apple [AAPL] also announced Max OS X Lion. The Lion version will be the 8th major release in the series when it arrives in the summer of 2011.New features in Mac OS X Lion include the Mac App Store that brings to App Store of the iPhone and iPad to the Mac.

MetroPCS launches LTE-based 4G in Detroit

Pre-paid wireless provider MetroPCS has now announced it added a third LTE-based 4G market in Detroit. The Motor City joins Las Vegas and Dallas/Fort Worth, with the service available on the carrier's Samsung Craft 4G handset. The plans start at a tax-inclusive $55 and top out at $60.
