Clearwire at 4G World today reported that the first results of its LTE-based 4G trials provided extremely high speeds. Using a full 20x20MHz frequency range, it reached 90Mbps for downloads and about 30Mbps for uploads.

Pre-paid wireless provider MetroPCS has now announced it added a third LTE-based 4G market in Detroit. The Motor City joins Las Vegas and Dallas/Fort Worth, with the service available on the carrier's Samsung Craft 4G handset. The plans start at a tax-inclusive $55 and top out at $60.
