According to a study by Sandvine, 20% of non-mobile internet traffic during prime time can be attributed to Netflix instant accounts during prime time usage periods in the US while streaming media accounts for 43% of peak period traffic.

Google today posted a teaser video (below) dropping a large clue that Android's next release, Gingerbread, had reached completion. As it often does when it finishes a major Android release, the company raised a statue reflecting the codename, here a gingerbread man, on its front lawn.

The FCC late Thursday put out a forecast (PDF) for the wireless future that pointed to spectrum auctions being much more expensive in the future. The US agency expected 3G and 4G data to surge 35 times higher in the next five years and need another 300MHz of spectrum that would cost $120 billion.
