An unnamed ASUS official today confirmed suspicions and said it was ending the Garmin-ASUS partnership on smartphones. More details were expected to become public on Tuesday. Garmin itself didn't comment on the Reuters statements....

The design of entirely new tools can be cool, but I'm much more impressed when someone takes a tried-and-true tool that's been around for ages, then markedly improves it by adding a little tiny something that no one thought of yet. Sprint will be subsidising the Samsung Galaxy Tab when it launches on November 14. The price will drop $200 down to $400 when signing up for a two year contract. The downside is that it will cost you $30/month for 2GB and unlimited text messages.
