The new MacBook Air may actually cannibalizing Apple's iPad sales, according to Rodman & Renshaw's Ashok Kumar. The analyst cites only "anecdotal evidence," but argues that for some people the leap in cost may be worth it.

Were you worried about Apple's commitment to Java? Today's press release from Cupertino may make you feel a little better. It seems Oracle (who bought Sun and thus Java back in 2009) and Apple are going to support the OpenJDK project going forward.

According to a recent survey, it looks like a growing number of iPad owners out there in the wild are considering canceling their TV service within the next six months. The reason being, they apparently would much rather watch their favorite television shows on the Apple tablet device.

Apple today posted iTunes 10.1 (84MB). The release for Macs and Windows is a prep for the launch of iOS 4.2 and is needed to properly sync with devices using the new OS. It also adds AirPlay support to push videos, not just music, to an Apple TV....

Taiwan-based PC maker First International Computer (FIC) earlier this week showed off its Windows 7 Home Premium tablet. Called Tycoon, the 10-inch tablet follows the design philosophy of a netbook and uses a 1.66GHz Intel Atom CPU and 2GB of DDR3 RAM.
