We’ve covered NFC tech in the past, notably the work done by Nokia and tititag (now touchtag). Now a vendor with a lot more marketplace clout is adding NFC support to one of its products, namely Google to its Android mobile OS.

Another no-batteries-needed gadget, Harry is the name of this weird-looking mass of wiry tentacles or tendrils that can grab on and hold anything small enough to fit in it. Stuff like keys, wallets, phones, you name it.

Generally, enterprise-orientated hard drives are much too expensive for the mainstream consumer. I can’t find the price on these new Hitachi SSDs, but I guarantee they’re not bargain bin. These suckers are aimed at speed and longevity.

The Emergency Broadcast System that will alert TV viewers of any emergencies may soon arrive on cellphones, Alcatel-Lucent said on Tuesday. The company is developing a Broadcast Message Center that will let government agencies send mass information regarding local, state or national emergencies.

The recent leaked specs of the upcoming Sony Ericsson X12 smartphone have been confirmed thanks to a Mobile-Review report, though these are not official. The screen will be a 4.3-inch AMOLED with an 854x480 resolution.
