Amazon opens up Kindle book gifting

Amazon has announced that customers are now able to give Kindle books as gifts to anyone with an e-mail address. Customers can take advantage of the new program even if they, or the gift recipient, do not own a Kindle reader.

UK deputy information commissioner David Smith today said that Google had agreed to delete Wi-Fi data collected by its Street View cars. The search firm would purge the data in the next nine months and would avoid threatened legal action since the data remained in Google's hands.

Website Giz-China has published photos of what appear to be genuine white iPhone 4s on sale in China. The boxes are marked with a label describing them as being "for internal use only," and certainly look more convincing than many of the knock-offs we see from that area.

Yahoo has released an iPad version of its popular iPhone Sketch-a-Search app. For those not familiar with the app, Sketch-a-Search lets users simply sketch a line around an area of the built-in Google map to find restaurants within the sketched area.
