GDC 2011: Sega demos Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing

At the 2011 Game Developers Conference, Sega revealed that it has decided to port its Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing game to the iPhone and iPod touch (no iPad announcement yet, but presumably it's coming). Sega then handed us a demo of the game to try out. It was (surprise?)

Net Applications said it was forced to rework its Internet market share figures on Tuesday after the CIA updated its Internet usage to better reflect worldwide computer use. The surge in Chinese users relative to the US meant that alternatives to Microsoft lost share in February.

After three months of testing, the Federal Aviation Administration has approved the use of iPads as an alternative to paper maps and charts for pilots. Currently the ruling only applies to private airline Executive Jet Management, but could potentially spread to others in the the future as well.

Google has paid 9 researchers a total of $14,000 for finding vulnerabilities in its Chrome 9.0.597.107 browser, in preparation for next week’s Pwn2Own hacking contest. The outside researchers found 15 bugs, and Google identified four more.

Introduced in the fall, Seagate has now began shipping its 3TB Barracuda XT internal hard drive. The highest capacity hard drive is rare in supporting legacy operating systems such as Windows XP, which can't normally support hard drive capacities higher than 2.1TB.

Retailer MobileCity has just listed the 8.9-inch LG G-Slate tablet up for pre-order for $700. While no ship date is revealed, the device will be tied to T-Mobile and promises to cost $100 less than a retail price for the device.
