If I was a test pilot/driver slated to drive a land vehicle at speeds of 1,000mph, I'd want the cockpit designed by professionals, not students. But world land speed record challenger Andy Green is confident that the product design students of University of the West of England are up to the task.

LG Display, today announced that it has formed a strategic alliance with Cree Inc., a LED (light emitting diodes) chip manufacturer in the US. LG Display signed a supply agreement with Cree for LED chips to be used in LCD backlighting in early January.

Looks like Google is now preventing anyone with an unlocked G1 from downloading for-pay applications from the Android Market. Google says this is to prevent piracy (but only in the most abstract sense, in my [worthless] opinion), but some developers don’t like the idea.

LG Display today rolled out its new 27-inch LCD monitor and full HDTV combo in South Korea. It features a 120Hz clear motion drive with 8ms response speed, 16:9 aspect ratio display, and 1920 x 1080 resolution. No word on pricing or availability so far.
