A UMTS version of the ASUS convertible touchscreen netbook has been spotted at CeBIT this morning.  The ASUS Eee PC T91GO has the same basic specifications of the original T91, but adds a quadband 3G HSPA modem to the standard WiFi b/g/n and Bluetooth.

Hmm. Well, this is sort of a disappointment. I was expecting the K30 or K300 to be announced, but instead we’ve got a hybrid. Lame. The X70 is a 12-megapixel (1/2.33-inch CCD) shooter with 24x optical zoom that’s capable of shooting HD movies.

Nintendo has won a small victory in its War on Piracy, which, like most “War[s] on [Idea or Concept],” is primarily a fool’s errand. A court in Japan banned the further importation of R4, a device that lets users, among other, legal uses, easily play pirated video games.

Before you lose it, I know: this Epson R-D1xG digital rangefinder camera costs three grand. So I'm not saying you should buy it. Nor am I saying that it's going to be worth the money, especially with a relatively ancient 6-megapixel sensor (albeit a fairly large one).

Dish drops 104,000 subs in 2008 Q4, still manages to increase revenue

Dish Network lost a bunch of subscribers at the end of last year but the company is still in the black even with losing 104,000 subs. Dish’s contract with AT&T is now up and it seems that all those peeps that got roped into deals are now dropping the service after the contract expired.
