HP has filed a USPTO trademark for HP Touchpad on January 14. Such a name would likely refer to an upcoming tablet, though whether it's connected to the Opal and Topaz webOS tablets or something else isn't known.

Just recently we have covered the information on Palm Topaz and Opal tablets were we suggested that while Opal is planned to launch on September 11, the Topaz might appear some time earlier. And we were right! As of today it is clear that Topaz will come round earlier, much earlier in fact.

The reason why USB 2.0 monitors have never really caught on is because the port’s bandwidth was never high enough for decent gaming frame rates and/or high resolutions. So with USB 3.0 gaining momentum I expected a lot of monitors to appear with support of the technology.

RIM and their BlackBerry PlayBook tablet they have recently previewed at CES 2011 has reportedly gone into volume production. Quanta Computer, the company to which production was outsourced, is planning on providing first shipment by the end of first quarter of current year.
