Sony has just unveiled the new Vaio W Netbook, the Vaio W is powered by an Intel 1.6GHz Atom Processor and a 10.1-inch screen with a display resolution of 1366 x 768. Sony really touted the Vaio P at the CES 2009 so to me the Vaio W wasn’t expected right now.

Tad-Labs has unveiled its latest Monaural Power Amp for the Japanese market. Dubbed as the TAD-M600, this 90kg machine features a 600W output (20Hz to 20kHz) with a THD of 0.2% and a frequency response of 1Hz-100kH (+0/-1 dB).

Japan-based Elecom today announced the Soundblack [JP], an iPod dock connector/speaker for use with a number of iPod models (iPod 5G, iPod touch 1/2G), iPod classic and iPod nano 1/2/3/4G). The 0.04W mini system doesn’t support the iPhone though.

Sony doesn’t make netbooks.  the Vaio P, for example is absolutely, positively not a netbook. In fact, in February Sony senior vice president Mike Abary called the whole netbook market “a race to the bottom.” That’s right. Sony denied that it would make a netbook.

The main problem with batteries is that they are still too large, relatively heavy and expensive to produce. Which makes an impractical in many applications where size and weight ratio are important factors.
