Everyone’s buzzing over the Chevy Volt, which is basically a hybrid car (runs on an electric and gasoline engine) with ginormous batteries. Eyes have bulged over the claimed 230 miles per gallon mileage.

The Backpack is an ingenious, gravity-secured shelf that sits on the rear stand of an iMac or an Apple Cinema display. The punched-aluminum platform pushes against the rear stand and a couple of clips reach around to grab the back, and the shelf just hangs there.

The HTC Touch Pro 2 is now available at T-Mobile. Too bad it’s $349.

We’ve heard real good things about the HTC Touch Pro 2. The 3.6-inch WVGA screen is good, the slide-out keyboard is apparently awesome and HTC once again shipped a great skin for Winmo 6.1. It’s just too bad that at $349, it’s the most expensive handset available at T-Mobile.

We might rib T-Mobile USA for pricing the HTC Touch Pro2 so highly, but we’d still much rather spend time with that smartphone than, say, the HTC Mega.  Going by the latest comments from HTC CEO Peter Chou, though, we may not have much choice soon.

Keeping your data secure on your flash drive is always a worry and if you feel that 256 bit hardware encryption might not be enough. You can always add a combination lock to the end of a USB drive. I don’t think we’ll keep out the most determined of data thieves and still looks funky.
