Australia-based Gecko Gear has recently rolled out the Gecko Connect and Gecko Soundwire cables that are more minimalist compared to their predecessors. The Soundwire is available in 1-meter (3.5mm to 3.5mm minijack) and 1.2-meter (3.5mm to RCA stereo) for $12 and $15, respectively.

I hit the brake pedal just once on a 200-mile stretch of Interstate highway coming back from the Adirondacks to the New York City area. It wasn't while driving in the middle of the night but on a busy Sunday afternoon, when traffic can be bumper to bumper the last 50 miles.

I know I give tiny cameras a lot of guff, but merely small ones are getting pretty damn good. It’s wrong to hold the iPhone camera to the same standards as something with a lens and sensor four times larger, but this new webcam from Microsoft seems to know its limitations.
