We recently received a couple of sets of speakers for review named the X-Mini II and X-Mini Max II. When first getting the speakers out of the box I was a little worried that they wouldn’t provide much sound or volume due to their small size.

The recipients of the Dutch Design Awards 2009 were announced on Saturday. Wieke Somers was awarded the Golden Eye—the award for the best of the best—on account of her Merry-go-round coat rack, installed in 2008 for the Boijmans van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam.

Livescribe is launching a new Pulse Smartpen, the new model comes with 4GB of storage as opposed to 2GB on the old model, and it will feature a new titanium color. The Livescribe Smartpens can sync handwriting and audio with your PC or Mac using a built in infra red camera and microphone.

Plastic Logic have finally announced details about their ebook reader, which will launch as the Plastic Logic QUE at CES 2010 in January.  The QUE has the largest E Ink display among ebook readers today, as well as a touchscreen interface, and Plastic Logic are aiming it at business professionals.

Dane-Elec has announced a series of external hard drives, the So SuperSpeed HDDs and SSDs, that will support the upcoming USB 3.0 standard. The drives will provide data transfer speeds of up to 250MBps, which is roughly ten times the rate available in current USB 2.0 devices.

Yep, despite video games being the choice of game today, puzzles have not died either. Take a look at Perplexus (nice name) which is a spherical 3-D maze with a ball bearing that you need to navigate around the maze.
