Philips is launching a new Google Android powered smartphone, the Philips V808, which will go on sale in China shortly. The Philips V808 is their second Android powered handset and it comes with a 3.2 inch HVGA touchscreen display, a 3.2 megapixel camera, and microSD card support up to 8GB.

Here is my latest creation, it’s a Gear Clock. It consists of a bunch of wooden gears, a PIC microcontroller and a stepper motor. The heart of the clock is a PIC 16f628A microcontroller.

We’ve been spectators to all kinds of sculptures made out of scrap. But like us even Nike wouldn’t have thought that shoes could be made in all kinds of scrap. Wires, metal sprockets, nuts, bolts, circuits, just name it and it is there, brought out from the landfill and fixed in for a shoe.

The Fotobox is a USB dongle that sits between an SD card and a Windows PC, just like a card reader. Unlike a card reader, it takes the photos on that card and turns them into a slideshow, running the software from the stick itself. We like the idea, and it seems genuinely useful.
