Yes, it’s Christmas but this Apple rumor is too juicy to wait. It’s true; Apple’s tablet may indeed be called iSlate! MacRumors discovered via historical evidence that Apple purchased the domain name iSlate.com from Data Docket, Inc. in 2007.

Bruce Schneier wrote a great piece on the unencrypted Predator drone video feeds, noting that the drones were built for a post-Soviet, pre-insurgent era and that encryption, in the case of a live feed, is more of a problem than a threat. The problem is, the world has changed.

Apple tonight was discovered through WHOIS records to have acquired the domain iSlate.com (currently inactive) two years ago. The company is known to have picked up the domain in 2007 and used the registrar MarkMonitor to keep the ownership secret.

Handset maker Kyocera on Wednesday added two of its midrange phones, the Laylo and Domino, to the offerings at provider MetroPCS. The Laylo is a slider phone that opens to revel a vanity mirror and features a soft-touch exterior.
