Panasonic is set to expand its line of LUMIX digital cameras with several new models in the FH- and FP-series, along with the DMC-F3. The FH cameras are designed with slim profiles and 28mm wide-angle lenses, with 8x optical zoom for the FH20 and 5x optical zoom with the FH3 and FH1.

Other than focusing on the new Android-powered BackFlip phone at CES, Motorola also outed its latest MotoNav portable navigation devices. The TN700 series is built around a 5.1-inch touchscreen, while the TN500 relies on a 4.3-inch display.

Remember that OLPC design that had two touchscreens joined at the hip, kind of like we saw with the Courier later? Yeah, it got canned, but the basic design seems to have lived on in this MSI concept.

Cannondale has pulled out the old-fashioned mechanical suspension inside its famous Lefty front-fork and stuffed in some electronics. The internal skunkworks project, called Simon, uses accelerometers and electromagnets to give a fast-responding, almost infinitely adjustable suspension.

So going to CES was not in the cards for me this year. Not a problem since I am not all that interested in the mainstream stuff anyway. I am more interested in the far out gadgets and some of the crazy products that may not find it in consumers hands.

France-based Branex Design had a booth full of unique iPod/iPhone iTamtam docks at CES that users can sit on. While it has other designs and models back in the home market, the first product Branex will offer in the US is the M1. It weighs just under 11.5lbs and is rated at 70W.

LG got another super slim machine like LG X300 but this time its not a laptop but a netbook. Called LG X200, the netbook packs a 10.1 inch display with a 1366 x 768 resolution.
