OWC Rolls Out Mercury Extreme Enterprise SSDs

Other World Computing (OWC) has rolled out a new series of SSDs for the mass market, the Mercury Extreme Enterprise. Powered by the new SandForce processor, these 2.5-inch SSDs feature a SATA II 3.0 Gbps interface and are able to provide read/write speeds of up to 260MB/s with 0.1ms latency.

HTC has likely pushed back an update to Android 2.0 for the Hero to March. A contact from Irish carrier Meteor says HTC has had to spend time integrating its Sense UI front end with the new Google OS and that it now expects the upgrade to arrive in March.

The HTC Supersonic pictured here is a render of what we could be in for if the phone makes it to production. The phone it’s self has a 4.3 inch screen (capacitive maybe?) and is said to be an Android version of the Windows Mobile HTC HD2.

More research was released Tuesday that concludes (surprise!) that U.S. consumers are interested in an Apple tablet.Solutions Research Group (SRG) surveyed 1,200 U.S. consumers aged 12 and over and discovered that 63 percent expressed interest in an Apple tablet, with 21 percent expressing "strong"...

Acer's plans for 2010 are no longer a secret. Apart from notebooks and the rest of the stuff we got used to see from Acer, they are working on an e-book reader, a tablet computer, an app store and Chrome OS ready netbooks. We can't wait for all of this lot.

I have bad eyes. A lot of nerds do and I can unforunatly see myself needing something like this before I leave this earth. But I’ll be damned if I pay $149.95 for it at Hammacher Schlemmer. I’d rather learn braille. But for $149 you get a device the size and shape of a computer mouse.

A leak today hints that Canon's entries at the upcoming PMA photography expo could include SLRs with swiveling displays. Coming from a historically accurate Israeli source, the tip has an EOS 60D and a new Rebel arriving, both of which would have an articulating LCD to help in shooting off-angle.

To coincide with today's release of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars for the Nintendo Wii comes news of peripherals maker Mad Catz releasing an arcade-like fighting stick controller. The device does not need to be physically connected to the Wii console but only to the Wii remote.
