Acer has rolled out its GD235HZ 23.6-inch 1080p LCD display. This 3D-ready LCD display needs a compatible nVidia graphics card with an nVidia’s 3D Vision active shutter glasses, which is not bundled together with the display.

Oh boy, I hope this is true. I’m shooting with an XSi, and it’s a great camera, but damn would I like to have me some movie-shooting ability. The T1i was a bad bet for that because it shot at 20FPS, which is ridiculous, but this new T2i allegedly has selectable frame rate modes.

Microsoft is allegedly set to unveil the "Zune Phone" later this month at the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona, according to the Spanish blog MuyComputer. The company has reportedly teamed with Nvidia to develop and launch the device, which is based on the Tegra platform.

I like the idea of LED lights, as I’m sure you do, too. Like you, I dislike the inefficiencies of incandescent bulbs, although I like the bright, warm light they produce. Like you, I like the power efficiency of CFL bulbs, although I dislike all that nasty mercury inside them.

T2i.  That’s the alleged model name of the new Rebel DSLR purportedly coming next week from Canon. And included in the bundle may possibly be a better video-shooting selectable FPS implementation, along with a redesigned outer casing and a better LCD display.

I’m not sure exactly how useful these things are, but as a concept they are definitely cool. Flat pack furniture, sure. But I’m not so sure about flat pack vehicles, these look like they might have some structural issues.

Mentioned a couple of weeks ago, the EROS tablet created by the Chinese is given a video demo of sorts today, as we see it pulling its little self together in the eleven minute long video.  Performance looks to be on par of an Intel Atom powered netbook.  Well that and the sub 2-hr battery life.

Toshiba may stop making LCD screens

A spokesman for Toshiba hinted that the company may withdraw from the LCD production business. At a results briefing on January 29th, corporate senior executive VP Fumio Muraoka stated that the company was examining all options, including “withdrawal from the business” to stem increasing losses.

NEC makes all sorts of products from projectors to desktop LCD displays for computers with lots of other products in between. Several of the LCDs that NEC offers are aimed at the professional user needing more accurate colors than the consumer does.
