Apple iPad on sale April 3rd in US; pre-orders March 12th

Apple have announced that the iPad will go on sale in the US come April 3rd, with preorders kicking off on March 12th.  The WiFi-only models will be priced at $499 for the 16GB iPad, $599 for the 32GB iPad and $699 for the 64GB iPad.

Word on the net is that Apple is working on some cooling related patents, specifically related to venting via the USB and firewire ports. In a way it makes sense, but there’s definitely a potential for disaster. What if all your USB ports are filled up with novelty devices?

It seems like Microsoft’s not the only one bringing out a needed Facebook app, only Palm’s for webOS actually works, and is thankfully much, much better.  It brings an enhanced inbox, improved photo album access, expanded profile viewing options, events, and friend search.
