Do you have a second gen iPod Shuffle? Are you running iTunes 8.1? Then, according to the Apple Discussion Forums, you should be having problems. The latest version of iTunes causes havoc with syncing the older Shuffle. While iTunes 8.1 doesn’t actually break the iPod, it makes it a pain to use.
